Grinding oil additive is a substance added to grinding oil in order to enhance performance. The most popular additions are coolants, lubricants, and anti-wear compounds. While anti-wear compounds aid in preventing wear and tear, lubricants enhance oil flow and lower friction. Coolants maintain the oil's temperature and stop it from heating up. All high-speed grinding and honing operations, including thread and groove grinding, non-ferrous metalwork (excluding copper), and highly alloyed chrome-nickel-steel are applications for the grinding oil additive. It enhances the performance of an oil's base stock. The producer of the oil includes these to improve lubrication, alter viscosity, remove engine deposits that can result in sludge, and stop corrosion.
